Participating in the Susan G. Komen Central New York Race for the Cure® with a team increases the fun, the laughter and maybe even the tears you share on Race day.
Did you know that every two minutes a new case of breast cancer is diagnosed in the US? Help us fight back by forming a team in honor or in memory of someone you know impacted or touched by breast cancer. Together you make an even greater impact than you could alone.
Team Town. Want to make sure your team gets noticed on Race Day? The 10 teams that raise the most money, (at least $7,500 or more,) by Sunday, May 10 will receive a 10x10 tent in our Team Town area on Race morning. You’ll be in the middle of all the action on the finish line side of Chevy Court and will receive complimentary coffee and water. Teams will be able to decorate their tents on Friday, May 15 and can use their tent as a meeting place for all members on Race Morning.
Team Town FAQ
What size are the tents?
For teams earning $10,000 or more the tents will be 15’ x 10’. One onsite parking pass for Race morning.
For teams earning $7,500 or more the tents will be 10’ x 10’. One onsite parking pass for Race morning.
Are teams allowed to bring in food and drinks to their tents?
Yes! Food and drinks are welcome, however, alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
What will be provided by Komen Central New York?
One 6’ table will be provided along with two chairs. Teams may bring additional chairs or tables if they’d like. Komen CNY will also provide a lawn sign with your team’s name on it.
When can teams decorate the tents?
Team captains and members will be allowed into Team Town to decorate their tents on Friday, May 16 from 4 pm – 7 pm. Overnight security will be onsite, however Komen CNY is not responsible for any damage or loss of materials.
Can team members stay overnight in the tents?
No. No one is permitted to sleep in the tents overnight.
